New Homeowners Mailing List – Comma Separated Values (CSV) Format

The CSV format is a favorite due to its simple construct.
Each line (ends with a carriage-return/new-line character) contains one record.
Each record contains all fields, where fields are separated by commas.
It allows delivering data that includes special characters, for example – commas themselves. Example: what if your value contains a comma, while comma signals a new field is starting? well, you simply add a “wrapper”(not rapper, this is not about hip-hop…)
If you “wrap” each field value by, say, quotation marks (or any symbol for that matter), you can now put your separator (comma) inside the value. Here’s an example:

If you have your data processed by 3rd party “data mill”, a CSV format delivery is usually favorable. The format also helps conserve size (and therefore file footprint) as opposed to “fixed width” format because each line (record) is only as long as it must be (vs. Fixed Width where all lines are as long as the format allows to keep the length consistent, see more details in Fixed Width Format info page, also known as Text Format.)

This is an electronic format, and therefore If you choose this format for your subscription/order delivery, it will be delivered via e-mail, which makes the data available to you as soon as it is compiled, further increasing your chances to target these leads before any of your competitors do.
